If you can write a story, you can take a photo: learn about photography from a new perspective, without the tech jargon.
What you'll learn 1. You will learn how to think about photos from a completely new, simplified perspective.
2. You will learn to make your photos interesting by using the same techniques as when you write or tell a story.
3. You will learn how everything in this course applies to any camera you use, whether it be a DSLR or a smartphone camera.
4. You will learn how all the techniques discussed in my course apply to any photo you take.
Requirements No experience . any age, any camera, your imagination.
Description You will enjoy my course because it avoids technical jargon and simplifies photography. It is aimed predominantly at smartphone users, however all photographers will learn how photos - visual stores - are structured the same as the stories we write and tell, using the same techniques. I translate photography into a universal language we all understand i.e. story-telling, using LOTS of visual examples. My course is based on a presentation I formulated during my nine years as national photo editor with ABC News Online (Australia). Originally it was intended for journalists and journalism students, but you don't need to be one to do this course. I've also presented it at school, universities and camera clubs, to photographers of all level, including non-photographers wanting to learn a few simple techniques to improve their photography.Everyone who has seen my presentation loves its easy-to-understand message. Like them, you will learn to think about photos from a different perspective (no pun intended), without having to get your head around things like apertures, f-stops and ISO. These are important but just about every photo nowadays is taken on a smartphone, including most I use as examples in my course. The principles you will learn apply to not only all photos but all cameras, just as the principles of story-telling are the same whether you use a pen and paper or a laptop. No matter the reason you are here, please always remember that photography is fun and you will make mistakes along the way. Don't stress, just delete the photo and have another go.Enjoy!*I have aded captions / sub-titles to all of my lectures.
