DescriptionDear friend and partner , We give the best we have to pursue a career path and we soon realize that a job is not only about the job title and the salary. We need to solve problems, effectively, quickly and take calls in an informed and business compatible way.I remember,M***** wanted badly to become DEPT manager, but she could not calculate effectively the required Work Force based on the active contracts and budget figures. It was a mess, every time she needed to record labor hours, calculate project cost, organize project tasks and create historical data. Each time she did quotations to potential customers, she was like rolling the dice and project profitability was out of her control. It was hard for her to support a new investment or a business review , other than expressing thoughts and feelings, because ... she did not have the data to show. The flight from a technical leader to a management leader was a little bit bumpy and clumsy. I remember,G*****, he wanted to be 2nd lieutenant, next to the chief officer the man of the power and the glory. He tried to coordinate teams , gather data and manage corporate reporting. He tried hard, however his excel solutions had 150 columns and each time we reviewed , you could find many mistakes coming from the fact that there was not a validation strategy and a keep it simple approach. He often found himself trapped into the procedures and he often lost a clear vision of what is the purpose. Authoritarian approach lucking the vision and the clear goal. Too much stress for today and too less action for tomorrow. How can i forget,A****** the new CEO, promised the Stars to the Board of Directors and he needed so badly to present quick wins. However, he had a major drawback. He relied too much on given data, He had no way to process information. In the first rounds, he took some bad decisions with people , just because the presented figures where biased and misleading. Too bad for Andreas, he was trapped into creating a team of flatterers rather than a team of doers. Maybe there is something common in these examples. No hands on mentality. No passion for informed decision making, no passion for historical observation and continuity. A hurry to manage others before we learn how to effectively manage ourselves. In this course i wish to transfer to you my 20years experience in solving Business Exercises in a way that you can develop methodologies which can help you to be effective in your daily routine. Excel is a very powerful tool as soon as you realize the performance potential and use it in the right way.I want to help you meet the following goals,1.Establish a methodology on MS Excel that can help you to:•Save time as a single user•Solve complicated problems as a single user•Collaborate effectively with teams by adopting certain techniques2.Shift our perspective from using Excel as Drawing Canvas to Data Management Tool that can perform•Calculations for us•Consolidation for us•Automate repeating actions and introduce some intelligence3. Help you to be able to stand alone and survive any business culture, from data reach down to data poor. Most of my skills where acquired in data poor environments and most of my tools where developed in companies with poor toolbox, this is the reality.4.Acquire a foundation that can help you move to the next level, which is to coordinate big scale teams and Big scale projects. You will need to master Excel methods so as you can then expand to Power BI or similar and automate your processes and analyze deeper and wider your business and your processes.
